A short first delay can cost the onward leg and half a day. Under the schemes that cover connections, final-arrival delay is usually what matters, and the strongest claims generally involve every leg on one booking.
What it can pay.
Ceilings and entitlements under the named rule, per passenger, before our fee. What applies to your itinerary is confirmed during review, and every estimate stays an estimate until then.

- The single booking confirmation showing both legs
- New boarding passes from the rebooking
- Receipts for the night, the meals, the taxi

Good to know
- On a purely US domestic itinerary there is no flat federal cash scheme for a missed connection. Rebooking, meal or hotel assistance depends on the airline's commitments and contract; a refund is due only when DOT refund rules are triggered and you do not accept the alternative.
- The strongest connection claims usually require one booking. Separate tickets are a different, harder case; check the airline's and travel insurer's terms carefully.
- Distance is measured over the whole journey, origin to final destination.
- The compensation is per passenger, not per booking.
